Long Island Trailer Park

I think a photo is needed, since this is photography blog. See? I do everything backwards. I do not lie…

This is a rather interesting spot on the South Shore, in Islip. It is a trailer park, done up the Long Island Way. Nautical. It reminds me, for some reason, of the trailer park Alex Rogan grew up in, from The Last Star Fighter. It retains the 1980s aesthetic charm and is definitely caught between two worlds. The nice thing about this trailer park is that it is right on a canal, with White Cap Fish Market right within walking distance. I believe the name of this “town” is Edgewater Lodge, please correct me if I am mistaken.

My friend Kevin used to be friends with a girl who lived here, she was a waitress at a local Italian joint.  But that was a long time ago. I wonder if she still lives here…
